Interview: Model Esmee Cornet (Netherlands)
Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi,
My name is Esmee Cornet, I’m 22 years old and I live in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I grew up in a little town in the East of the Netherlands, called Haaksbergen.
Im a professional dancer and model, I do a lot of freelance jobs and in August I am gonna start in the Lion King Musical in the Netherlands.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I am far from perfect but I do not want to change anything about myself because all of it is what makes me ME. So I accept also my imperfections.
How did you start modeling?
I started modelling when I moved to Amsterdam, I got in contact with a photographer and did a shoot for him. He told me then to maybe apply for a beauty pageant cause he thought i would love it. So I did, since then Ive been modelling a lot and sometimes less depending on, if I had the time.
What do you think of the work as a model?
I think modelling is very nice but also very hard work. Most of the people still think being pretty is the same as being a model but I don’t agree with that. Modelling is a job. You have to know your stuff and skills.
What is your beauty regimen?
I don’t have any. Im really messy with that. The only thing I really try to do is:: ALWAYS take my make up off before I go to sleep. J
What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
I think I’m a very fun but also centered person. Im really honest, maybe even blunt. But I’ll never lie in your face. So I think it’s a rather good quality but also sometimes a bad one. Anyways it is a quality which distinguishes me from the rest I think.
What are your plans for the future?
Too be happy haha. I dont make too many plans fort he future. Im gonna dance in the Lion King musical for more then a year. And after that we’ll see what adventure is next.
What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
I did a lot of shoots and shows but I think one of my favourites has to be the first time I was ever on the catwalk, it was a fashion show for a local clothing shops with different brands.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
If your considering modelling, ask yourself if you want it to make it your profession or if you just want to have a nice time and doing sometimes shoots. For me there;s a difference. Shooting, I suppose just do it and see if you like it. Then there is always a way to do more shoots and camera work. But modelling as a profession, go to a agency or see what the requirements are, work on your skills, your poses and your personality.
What do you think of the magazine?
I think it’s a great thing! Everyone can read a lot of this world, which I believe is always good! Good Job and keep going
